Presently our primary patrol vehicles are Ford Explorer SUV. Each vehicle is outfitted with a mobile radio, an in-car mobile computer, a tint meter (used to measure tinted windows on vehicles), a preliminary breath tester (to determine alcohol consumption), a first aid kit, accident investigation tools, and a fingerprint kit. Car 45(Pictured below right) is equipped with a license plate reader system on the roof that is used to detect expired, suspended, and stolen registration plates. It also alerts officers if the registered owner of the vehicle has active warrant(s) for their arrest.
